The platform

Control Windows and Mac
from the same RMM.

Milk RMM includes remote desktop control for Windows and Mac. The same controller provides device inventory, terminal access and automation, with Windows software deployment, patching and image recovery.

Built-in remote support and terminal.

Open an attended remote desktop session from the browser, with the user's consent. Windows and Mac support helpers provide screen viewing, mouse and keyboard control. Privileged terminal access is also part of the controller: SYSTEM on Windows and root on an installed Mac agent.

Milk provides its own remote support components. A separate remote-control product is not required for this workflow.

Mac setup: support requires an unlocked, signed-in desktop and the appropriate macOS Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions. Full Disk Access is needed for relevant file and inventory access.

Search software. Deploy to the right machine.

Search the supported Windows application catalog by name, choose a package and review the installation result. A curated workplace shortlist keeps the first screen useful, with broader results available through search.

  • Supported silent installers selected for the endpoint's architecture.
  • Microsoft 365 installation through the Office Deployment Tool, with company-specific settings.
  • Reviewed Chocolatey packages through a controlled, internal package workflow.
  • Installed application inventory and supported uninstall actions.
  • Windows update scanning, individual update installation and Install all.

Application licenses remain yours to arrange. Chocolatey deployment requires its prerequisites and configured package storage. Package sources and vendor installers remain part of the software supply chain.

100 Windows scripts and Mac diagnostics.

Milk includes 100 built-in Windows automations across operating-system health, network and DNS, storage, updates, identity, security posture, services, applications, events and printers. Tasks carry parameters, prerequisites and returned results.

Mac has a separate collection of 27 native, read-only diagnostics. Capability-aware controls show the tools supported by the selected machine.

Power actions on current Windows agents include a forced restart with a user warning and a one-minute default countdown. Advanced controls retain custom timing and messages.

Windows recovery is part of the operation.

Manage image backup policies, retention, integrity verification and recovery preparation from the controller. Block reuse reduces repeated storage of unchanged data, and image archives use encrypted storage. Capacity defaults start from disk size plus 50%, with advanced overrides.

Recovery is an operational process: choose a suitable image, prepare recovery media, confirm the destination disk and verify the machine after the write. Keep a record of the boot and application checks that establish a usable recovery.

Current recovery scope: supported Windows x64 systems with a single GPT disk, 512-byte logical sectors and UEFI. Recovery requires configured storage, appropriate media and a sufficiently large destination. Isolated recovery drills depend on the configured virtualization environment.

Inventory and service checks.

The latest usable inventory remains available when a machine goes offline. Collection timestamps distinguish retained information from current observations.

HTTPS response and certificate checks, DNS checks and TCP checks add service visibility. Optional provider connections bring Microsoft Entra and Intune inventory, user and license information, Redfish server data and Hyper-V evidence into view.

Windows tray support requests can reach a configured Microsoft 365 mailbox, with connection setup and delivery history in the controller. Provider connections require the appropriate accounts, permissions and reachable services.

Microsoft provider data provides visibility. Administration of Intune policies, full MDM and PSA billing remain separate requirements to evaluate.
